The first-hour priorities

Start with the systems the opening actually teaches. Learn how the camera, traversal and interaction prompts feel before spending time optimizing a team. When the game introduces Aniipods, practice the catch sequence on common encounters so the timing and item selection become familiar.

Your starter is not a hidden difficulty setting. Helion favors close-range physical action; Lunara provides a ranged, magic-oriented style. Pick the combat distance you enjoy rather than chasing an unsupported launch-day tier list.

Catching and building a useful roster

Official material describes encounters as sensitive to environment, weather, phenomena and time of day. If the Aniimo you want is not visible, that does not automatically mean the source is wrong: recheck the region and current conditions before using more items.

Build breadth before perfection. A small group that covers different movement and combat situations is more immediately useful than repeatedly chasing a rare visual form. The Aniilog records discoveries and gives you a natural way to track progress.

Learn Twining early

Twining lets the Pathfinder become a collected Aniimo and use its abilities. It supports traversal, combat and environmental problem solving, so it is a core verb rather than an optional transformation gimmick. Try each newly collected Aniimo in a safe area and note what changes in movement, reach and attack rhythm.

What can wait

Homeland building, advanced collection goals, high-difficulty Holo-Battle challenges and rare-form hunting do not need to dominate the first session. Unlock them naturally, read their in-game explanations, and return when your roster and resources are broader.

For multiplayer, confirm that friends chose the same server region before investing time. Progress is shared across platforms only within the same server; separate servers keep independent data.

A safe starting checklist

  1. Choose the starter whose range feels comfortable.
  2. Complete the opening prompts and activate the systems the story introduces.
  3. Practice one ordinary catch instead of immediately hunting a rare form.
  4. Try Twining with more than one collected Aniimo.
  5. Record the server region before inviting friends.
  6. Use the official in-game help or F10 on PC if an account or launch issue blocks progress.
